What`s the difference between other microbial or enzyme based products and Bio-Active?

The differences are many! Most other commercially available microbial or enzyme products are based on single active components. Often these products have a short shelf life and must be used upon a timely manner. Additionally, a large amount of product (normally in liquid form) is required and the cost-per-ounce is relatively high. Bio-Active® is powder based and has a three-year shelf life from the date of manufacture. This allows the versatility to be used anytime within that time frame as long as stored as recommended. Another important difference is that Bio-Active® is compatible to be used alongside most sanitizers simultaneously while other microbial products are often not compatible with pool water conditions.

How do i apply Bio-Active?

Pour the required dosage in a bucket of at least 2 to 3 gallons of water, mix thoroughly then broadcast the mixture in the pool along the outer edge. Please refer to the instructions of the product to learn what dosage quantity is necessary according to your pool size.

Is Bio-Active safe?

Yes, Bio-Active® consists of natural ingredients known to be nonhazardous. There is absolutely NOTHING found in Bio-Active® that is toxic or a pollutant and there are no known allergens in the product. Exposure on the skin or anywhere on the body will cause no harm as the product can simply be dusted or washed off. Because of this, there is no toxic danger of over-dosing your pool with Bio-Active® products.

How long will Bio-Active work in my pool?

In most instances you can see results within the first 24 hours, but the product will continue to show results up to the tenth day after application. Please refer to the directions of your product for any additional information.

How soon can swimmers enter the pool after applying Bio-Active?

Accepted Answer

It is recommended that the pool water be circulated through the pump completely to allow for Bio-Active® to occupy the entire body of water. Once this is done then swimmers are free to enter the pool. There are no known safety precautions to be aware of.

What temperature does my water need to be for Bio-Active to work?

Accepted Answer

It is best for your pool to be over 65° Fahrenheit (18.3° Celsius) for Bio-Active™ to perform as intended. It can still perform below this temperature, albeit at a much slower pace. The product will cease to perform at all if the water is below 35° Fahrenheit (1.7° Celsius) or above 140° Fahrenheit (60° Celsius).

Would high concentration of chlorine in the pool, from chlorine shock for instance, degrade performance or Bio-Active?

Chlorine concentration of around 5 ppm would begin degrading performance of Bio-Active™, any concentration below that would not interfere with performance.

Accepted Answer

If the pool has been treated with products that contain copper sulfate, potassium monopersulfate, zinc sulfate, or similar then it may be likely that Bio-Active® may not yield a result after pool dosing. Prevent using this product for at least a week prior to and during dosage period.

Absolutely! Bio-Active™ is one of the few products available that can be used to treat fish or koi pond water without finding adverse effects which can hurt aquatic life.

The product will perform slowly at 65° Fahrenheit (18.3° Celsius) and will cease to perform at all if the water is below 35° Fahrenheit (1.7° Celsius) or above 140° Fahrenheit (60° Celsius).  Chlorine levels above 5 ppm will not allow for Bio-Active™ to perform as intended as well.

Bio-Active™ is fully compatible in salt water and fresh water systems alike. There is no notable performance difference when Bio-Active™ is applied between the two.
